The Ministry of Culture and Social Rehabilitation said the public holiday will continue to be observed on the third Monday each June.
The holiday, created to honour persons for their contributions to the Island, was first celebrated last October 14. The idea was to continue to recognise it each year, on the second Monday in October.
Protests followed news that the longstanding Queen's birthday holiday in June would be axed to accommodate the new celebration. As a result, Government permanently moved National Heroes Day to June earlier this year.
