Graceful and majestic

Dolphins are often regarded as one of Earth’s most intelligent animals and after my experience at The Dolphin Quest today it is easy to see why. There are currently seven dolphins at Dolphin Quest. The oldest is Cirrus; she is the grandmother to the three youngest dolphins. These are called: Marley, Cavello and Cooper. Nimbus was their father but he has been relocated to Dolphin Quest in Hawaii. The other three in the pod are called Caliban, Bailey and Ely. It was truly inspirational to watch the dolphins interacting with each other and the visitors at Dolphin Quest today and hard to say which had more fun the humans or the dolphins. It was stimulating to watch the interaction between people and the dolphins. The experience confirms we are all interconnected and makes the visitor appreciate nature up close. The dolphins were so graceful and majestic to watch. The sound was another sense that was awakened whilst there today.Dolphins communicate through sounds and whistles. It became very apparent very quickly that there are several kinds of whistles and pulsed sounds that they use.It was as if they were talking not only between themselves but to the spectators that watched on.On Saturdays and Sundays throughout the year, you will always find something going on at 1pm at Dolphin Quest. The cost of admission is $10 and this also gets you in to the Museum too.Dolphin Quest has special rates for classes and/or camps who wish to visit. Classes cost $5 per student for the enrichment class with an additional $5 per student to touch and interact with the dolphins. The team will work with all ages, preschool through college and can accommodate groups of 12 to 20 plus students. They are also open to coordinating specific curriculum classes to enrich the classroom. For example they will offer to individualise the class around math, English, geography and so on …For more information on how your class or camp can arrange an educational enrichment class contact Abbie Caldas at acaldas@dolphinquest.com.
