Local landscapers used their chainsaws for charity, clearing out invasive casuarina pines from a protected beauty spot. The Alfred Blackburn Smith reserve in Paget, cared for by the Bermuda Audubon Society, was cleared by Horsfield Landscape and Design.Cutting down the pines, which spread easily on the coastline and choke out native plants, was “certainly a very satisfying job”, said company owner Kevin Horsfield.
