Thomson appointed chairman of Bermuda Press Holdings
A long-serving director of Bermuda Press (Holdings) Ltd (BPHL) has been appointed chairman of the board.
Stephen Thomson, a board member since 1997, was previously deputy chairman under former chairman Michael King, who died earlier this year.
He has worked closely with management of BPHL, the parent company of The Royal Gazette, as the firm restructured its operations.
Mr Thomson, president of Mailboxes Unlimited and the Just Shirts dry cleaning chain, will be joined on the board by new director Chiara Nannini.
Ms Nannini is an associate in the corporate department of Conyers Dill & Pearman and specialises in corporate and commercial law.
BPHL CEO Jonathan Howes said: “BPHL is delighted to have Stephen as the chairman and welcomes Chiara to the board.
“Stephen has been an asset to the company over the past few years. His knowledge of local businesses and his drive to see BPHL succeed has been invaluable.”
Mr Thomson added: “Chiara is highly educated and her legal experience is a great addition to the board.
“I look forward to her fresh perspective and contributions to the board as we continue to redefine the future of the company.”
