Butterfield shares slip 4.8%
Shares of Butterfield Bank fell by $1.20, or 4.8 per cent, to $24.05, after 11,986 traded on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.
In New York, the bank’s shares were up seven cents, or 0.29 per cent, at $24.39.
On the local exchange, a total of 100 shares of Ascendant Group Ltd changed hands, but with no change to the closing price of $30.50.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index was down 53.97 points, or 2.94 per cent, at 1,784.44, while the BSX Insurance Index was up 34.98 points, or 2.58 per cent, at 1,393.01.
Meanwhile, BF&M Limited has announced the continuation of its repurchase programme, approved at a meeting in 2016 by the board of BF&M Limited, for a further twelve months. The share buyback programme enables BF&M to repurchase, at its discretion, up to 241,425 common shares at market prices on the Bermuda Stock Exchange.
