Voters who turn out for the General Election tomorrow will have “an extra layer of protection” from Covid-19, a Government spokeswoman said last night.

Saliva tests for the coronavirus were offered by the Ministry of Health for officials employed by the Parliamentary Registrar, as well as election candidates, yesterday and will also be available tonight.

Opening hours at the Perot Post office test centre on Queen Street in Hamilton were extended from 6pm to 9pm both nights to allow tests to be carried out on election night staff and candidates.
