Man stabbed near Snorkel Park

A man was stabbed in the chest in the Dockyard in the early hours of yesterday.

A police spokesman said: “Upon arrival, officers observed a male lying on his back at the entrance to Snorkel Park and bleeding from a stab wound to his chest.”

He added that the victim was conscious and breathing.

Police officers arrived at the scene just before 2am.

The man was taken by ambulance to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for treatment, but the wound was not thought to be life-threatening.

Police have appealed for witnesses.
