Covid-19: one new case

The island recorded one more Covid-19 case yesterday.

The victim was a visitor, who arrived on the Delta flight from Atlanta on Thursday.

A spokeswoman said contact tracing was under way.

The case was among 663 test results that came back to public health officials yesterday. All the rest were clear.

The visitor brought the number of cases logged to 175.

A total of 158 people have recovered and there are eight active cases, all monitored by public health officials and none are in hospital.

The death toll related to Covid-19 remains at nine.

A total of 89 cases have been on-island transmissions with a known contact and 19 were on-island transmissions with unknown contacts.

There have been 65 cases that came in from overseas and the source of two cases is under investigation.

Bermuda’s country status remains at “sporadic cases” and the seven-day average for the real-time reproduction number is less than 1.
