Tag day will warn about prostate cancer and heart disease
A men’s health charity and clinic will spread awareness about prostate cancer and heart disease during its first tag day ahead of Father’s Day.
DailyMale Men’s Health Clinic urged the public to wear light blue on Friday in recognition of two of the most common medical killers of men.
Jade Robinson, the cofounder of DailyMale, said that the Pre-Father’s Day Tag Day was in honour of “all the men in our lives and to honour those we have lost”.
She added: “Together we are supporting our dads, brothers, sons, partners and friends by screening, raising awareness, funding life-changing research, campaigning for change and providing much needed support.
“We ask all of Bermuda to please join us by wearing denim and pale blue in support of prostate cancer awareness.”
Volunteers will be stationed across the island for the tag day, when they will hand out prostate cancer awareness stickers.
Funds raised will go towards purchasing a van for on-the-go health screenings, as well as to cover operational expenses. The vehicle will cost about $300,000.
