A truck caught fire at Crow Lane roundabout in Hamilton on Saturday evening.

Police and Bermuda Fire and Rescue Service staff were on the scene shortly after 6.15pm. The vehicle sustained extensive fire and smoke damage but nobody was injured.

The road heading into Hamilton was closed, with traffic diversions in place.

Fire Service spokesman Delton White said in a statement: “The vehicle was reported to have visible flames and smoke emitting. We responded with one vehicle and four personnel. On our arrival we found an open back van fully involved with fire in the bed and passenger compartment. Firefighters dressed in full protective gear then extinguished the fire.”
