Raynor named Chief Information Officer

A new chief information officer has been appointed in the Government’s Department of Information and Digital Technologies.

The appointment of Daron Raynor was announced by Derrick Binns, the Head of the Public Service.

Dr Binns said: “I am pleased to welcome Daron Raynor to the Public Service and specifically to lead the Department of Information and Digital Technology.

“His knowledge, skills and background will help to drive the technology strategy for the Government of Bermuda and in turn support our vision, of a future-forward government for the people of Bermuda.”

Mr Raynor, a Bermudian who has lived overseas for more than 25 years, has more than 30 years of IT experience.

He was most recently the programme and IT manager for Montgomery County in Ohio.

Mr Raynor has a BSc degree in technology and is a certified business relationship professional.

A government spokeswoman said he was “experienced in devising, co-ordinating and implementing IT strategy together with information and digital technology strategy and planning, operational excellence, technical expertise, financial management and leadership”.
