On Thursday, Harris placed second while setting a new Bermuda record in the 200 metres backstroke, clocking two minutes, 15.2 seconds and the next day followed with a third in the 200 metres individual medley (2:18.0).

Fahy was similarly second on the first day, his 24.75 in the 50 metres freestyle two seconds faster than his previous personal best. A Bahamian swimmer won the race in a fast 23.5, which qualified him for the Olympics.

Going one better in his next outing, Fahy won the 100 metres butterfly in 59.85.

Each have two more races today and tomorrow, Fahy competing in the 100 metres freestyle and 50 metres fly, while Harris is due to tackle the 100 metres backstroke and 200 metres freestyle.

Accompanying the pair is national coach Gareth Davies, who had praise for the facility which he described as "phenomenal, with everything one could imagine...it's almost absurd how great a facility this is''.

More than 180 swimmers representing nine countries -- mostly Caribbean nations -- are competing at the event.
