The court heard that the Paget resident was stopped after police officers spotted him riding his bike erratically.
Salinas just stared at officers when they told him to get off the bike and he was unsteady on his feet when he eventually complied.
Asked if he had been drinking, he said he had drunk three wines. He was taken to Hamilton Police Station, where it was determined that he was almost 3½ times over the legal driving limit.
Magistrate Tyrone Chin fined him $1,500 fine and disqualified him from driving for 18 months.

Appearing in Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, Dennis Lottimore pleaded guilty to driving on North Shore Road while impaired on March 24.
Police attempted to stop the Warwick resident after they spotted his car swerving in the road.
However, as he was approached by an officer, he drove off. When the officer caught up with him, his car was stationary with the front end in the entrance to a private residence. Lottimore was seen fiddling with the keys in the ignition, attempting to restart the car.
He refused to give a sample of breath for analysis. Magistrate Tyrone Chin fined Lottimore $1,200 and banned him from driving for 18 months.
