BHS launches ‘Leading the Way’ campaign for innovation

Space to experiment: the new facility will include five science labs

BHS launched a major effort on March 20 to provide the curricular, extracurricular, and facility enhancements to make its Steam vision a reality. “Leading the Way”.

The BHS Campaign for Innovation is an historic effort to provide the resources necessary to propel a BHS education to the next level. Through this momentous project, BHS seeks to create two core facilities:

The Innovation Centre

This will be a new purpose-built facility for science, maths and technology. It will include five science labs (including robotics), an innovation and creation space (Fab Lab), a digital library and resource centre, an entrepreneur centre, and a leadership centre for girls.

The Arts Wing

Space in an existing building will be repurposed to centralise the visual and dramatic arts and music. It will include large visual art studios, incorporating sculpture and digital arts; classroom and studio space for drama (including a black box theatre), and classrooms and practice rooms for music.

With a goal of raising $10 million to complete the Innovation Centre and Arts Wing, BHS already has the support of parents, staff, trustees, alumni, companies and friends of the school with $7.1 million committed to the Campaign. Anyone interested in learning more about the project, or to give a gift, should contact Jennifer Burland Adams, Director of Advancement at 441.278.3040 or jburlandadams@bhs.bm or visit www.leadingtheway.bm
