Senior driver hits utility pole
A Devonshire senior suffered minor injuries following a single-vehicle crash in Paget on Saturday afternoon.
It happened on Middle Road near the junction with Chapel Road shortly before 2.30pm.
According to police, the 70-year-old woman struck an utility pole, causing damage to the vehicle. The woman’s injuries were described by police as minor.
“The Devonshire woman was initially tended to by Bermuda Fire & Rescue Service personnel before being transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, where she was treated and discharged later that same day,” said a police spokesman.
Any witnesses are asked to contact police on 295-0011.
Meanwhile, a 29-year-old Pembroke man injured in a motorcycle crash last week remains in hospital in stable condition.
The man was injured when the motorcycle he was riding hit a wall on Fairlyland Road, near the junction with Fairyland Lane, at around 12.30am on Thursday.
He was transported to hospital and later arrested on suspicion of drunk driving, police said last week.
