Woman arrested after crash
A 32-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving following a crash in Devonshire early yesterday morning. It happened on South Road, near Brighton Hill Road, at around 3.45am.
According to police, the woman sustained non-serious facial injuries after the scooter she was on struck a wall.
“A court appearance is anticipated in due course,” police said.
• A court appearance is also anticipated for a 46-year-old St George’s man arrested on suspicion of impaired driving following a crash early Saturday morning. The single-vehicle car crash occurred along Mullet Bay Road at around 1.30am.
According to police, the man suffered minor facial injuries after the vehicle struck a tree.
• A 56-year-old Warwick man extricated from a truck following a crash in Paget on Friday night escaped injury, police said. The single-vehicle crash happened on Harbour Road, near the junction with Valley Road, shortly before 10pm.
According to police, it appeared the truck struck a kerb, causing it to end up on its side.
The driver was “temporarily trapped inside the truck,” police said. A section of Harbour Road was closed for approximately one hour following the crash.
