Ritz-Carlton pays a visit
John Hearns and Donna Macklemore of the Ritz-Carlton corporation came to CedarBridge Academy earlier this month to speak to the students about working in the hospitality industry, and possibly recruiting future workers.
Their aim is to fill the large number of jobs created with Bermudian labour. The hotel will also have homes for permanent residency, opening September of this year. This is a billion-dollar project and the construction of the hotel has already commenced on Carolina Bay (Morgan’s Point) since March of last year.
The beaches will be private and there will also be restaurants available to the public. The team left us with some food for thought. They stated that, “Not only should we just ‘serve’ customers but create memories” and also, “If you get joy from the satisfaction of others, then you should consider the hospitality industry”.
