Dolphin Quest makes donation to WindReach
Dolphin Quest has made a donation of more than $1,500 to WindReach Bermuda.
The funds represent proceeds generated during Dolphin Quest’s 20th Anniversary Celebration and Family Fun Day that took place last month.
Dolphin Quest and the National Museum of Bermuda hosted the fun day “to connect visitors to nature and support charity”, said a spokesperson.
Visitors to the event enjoyed free admission to the National Museum of Bermuda, complimentary dolphin demonstrations, face painting, a fun castle, crafts, foods and a raffle to benefit WindReach Bermuda.
The charity cares for people with a wide range of physical and intellectual special needs.
The event also marked Dolphin Quest Bermuda’s 20th anniversary. The organisation started its educational dolphin interaction programmes in 1996.
“During the past 20 years, Dolphin Quest has supported 40 scientific studies and hosted over 21 marine mammal researchers. Findings from these studies are expanding the understanding of marine mammals and aiding their conservation and protection in the wild,” added the spokesperson.
