Two Customs officers have been placed on administrative leave by HM Customs after each was arrested last week in connection with separate proactive police investigations. Both individuals have been released on police bail pending further inquiries, according to a press release from the Bermuda Police Service.
Senator Jeff Baron, the Minister of National Security, said he was aware of the matter and had been “fully briefed by both the Bermuda Police Service and the Collector of Customs”.
“As the matter is under active investigation, it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”
