Men deny violent police encounter

Two Warwick men have denied a combined seven offences stemming from an allegedly aggressive confrontation with police yesterday.

Micha Perozzi, 19, is accused of assaulting an officer and violently resisting arrest in Pembroke.

The South Breeze Road resident also pleaded not guilty to using offensive words towards police.

He is alleged to have said on Victoria Street in Hamilton: “You guys are pu****s and fa****s, you f*****g guys have nothing better to do.”

Khyber Heights Lane resident Jo’Shun Richardson, 21, is accused of assaulting an officer, providing a false name, obstructing an officer and violently resisting arrest in Pembroke.

The two defendants will stand trial on February 3.

Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released them this morning on $3,000 bail each with like sureties.
