The Bank of Butterfield rose 25 cents to $23.75 in Bermuda Stock Exchange trading today.

The rise, equivalent to 1.1 per cent, came after 6,057 shares traded.

The bank’s shares on the New York Stock Exchange fell by 4 cents or 0.17 per cent, to $24.03.

Insurance firm Argus remained at $4.05 after 135,000 shares changed hands.

And Somers Ltd was also unchanged at $13.75 after 1,300 shares moved.

The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed up 11.24 points, or 0.73 per cent, at 1,554.47.

The BSX Insurance Index ended the day up 8.67 points, or 0.53 per cent, at 1,659.07.
