Bermudian actor to be honoured in Britain
Bermudian actor Earl Cameron is set to be honoured in the UK, becoming the first inductee in the Screen National Hall of Fame.
According to The Voice Online, The Screen National Foundation is set to launch the first hall of fame for black film and television in October.
The 99-year-old actor has appeared in numerous films over the past 70 years and has been credited as one of the first actors to break the colour barrier in the UK.
During his career, he appeared in more than 90 films including Pool of London, Sapphire, Flame in the Streets, Thunderball and The Interpreter.
Charles Thompson, the chairman of Screen Nation Foundation, was quoted as saying: “I am proud that the incredible legacy of the extraordinary contributions gifted by these outstanding veteran screen talents to the British film and TV industry can now finally be honoured through the hall of fame.”
