A man attempted to set fire to a home on Happy Valley Road shortly after 3am yesterday, police have reported.

There were no injuries, and the fire service quickly extinguished the fire, which is under investigation as arson.

A female occupant at 5 Happy Valley Road, Pembroke, opened the house door to find it in flames. Police said a flammable liquid appeared to have been poured outside.

Anyone who may have seen persons acting suspiciously in the area is asked to contact police at 295-0011.
