International legal firm Harneys has won a top award for offshore law.

Harneys, which merged with Bermuda firm Hurrion & Associates last year, was named offshore legal firm of the year by professional magazine The Lawyer.

The Bermuda office joined a Harneys network which includes London, the Caribbean, including the Cayman Islands, Cyprus, Mauritius, Latin America and Asia.

Mr Tarn said: “At a time when others have scaled back or remained static, Harneys is winning clients, innovating offshore law, expanding into new markets and advising on complex, multi-jurisdictional, multibillion dollar matters. We are delighted to receive this recognition.”

The Lawyer awards were set up to mark excellence across private practice, the public sector, commerce and industry and the Bar.

Winners are selected by an expert panel based on a range of criteria, including depth and breadth of expertise, commercial strength and legal innovation.

Harneys has already won an award from HFM Week for its funds arm and has just been shortlisted for a Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners private client award.
