The Bermuda Chamber of Commerce is to highlight tough new rules for the real estate industry as part of a crackdown on money laundering and terrorist financing.

Kendaree Burgess, executive director of the Bermuda Chamber of Commerce, said: “Becoming compliant need not be a difficult or tedious process.

“With the anti-money laundering requirement soon to come into law, agents and other real estate partners have to get up to speed quickly — learning what is required is the first step.”

And Ms Burgess said the chamber was particularly keen to attract smaller real estate operators to the lunch and learn session, to be held at the chamber’s Hamilton headquarters on Tuesday, June 14 between noon and 1.30pm.
