The West will be looking to continue their recent dominance over their East End counterparts in the annual All-Star matches this month.

Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) announced the players for the respective age groups yesterday with games taking place over the next two weekends at the National Sports Centre.

The West all-stars won all three all-star games last year.

The Under-11's all-star match will be the first of the three games that will see the East and West Ends of the Island battle for bragging rights with the game scheduled to start at 11.30 a.m.

The Under-14 and Under-17 will be played the following weekend at 9.30 a.m. and 1.30 p.m.

Reggie Pearman, president of the BCB also said; "On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank all the volunteer coaches for their hard work and dedication throughout the season the League sponsors, Hiscox, Bermuda Security Group and BF&M, for their continued support of our programmes.

"The 2009 Youth Leagues have been a great success this year with 10 teams taking part in the under- eight league, 20 teams in the Hiscox Under-11 League, 14 teams in the BSG Under-14 and eight teams in the BF&M Under-17 League.

"All our leagues continue to grow and the numbers of participants, over 750 children, clearly proves this.

"I would also like to take this time to encourage the local community to come and watch our rising young stars."

"In addition to the All Star games taking place this Saturday, the BCB will be holding a prize presentation for the first, second and third placed teams in each league directly following each game, so we hope to see as many league participants attending as possible."
