Making an impact in the short time she lived and worked at The Inn at Little Washington is no mean achievement for Zahra Jabbar. Why? The restaurant is regarded as one of the finest in the United States, if not the world, with a catalogue of accolades to its name. Here's a list of some of its achievements.

First establishment in the Mobil Travel Guide's history to receive 5 stars for both the restaurant and accommodations.

It is also the first inn to ever receive AAA's highest accolade, the five diamond award for both food and accommodation.

Rated number one year after year in all categories in 'Zagat's' Washington DC Restaurant Survey. Rated number one dining room in America in 2003 Zagat US Hotel Survey.

'Travel+Leisure'magazine in their 2002 World's Best Awards survey ranked The Inn at Little Washington number one in North America and number two in the world.

The James Beard Foundation named Patrick O'Connell Best Chef in the Mid-Atlantic Region and honoured The Inn as Restaurant of the Year in 1993, giving it the Best Service Award in 1997, the Best Wine List Award in 1998 and Outstanding Chef of the Year in 2001.

The restaurant has been awarded Wine Spectator's "Grand Award" for the last eight years.

Other distinctions include Cigar Aficionado's "Grand Cru" award for the restaurant's wine list, and the "Reader's Top Table" award in Gourmet's Restaurant Issue.
