Michael Dunkley threw the ceremonial first pitch at New York Yankees’ game against Boston Red Sox at the Yankee Stadium this evening.

The Premier, who is in New York to support events associated with the America’s Cup World Series this weekend, was invited to the game, which also featured Bermuda and America’s Cup promotions and opportunities.

“I was very honoured on behalf of Bermuda to throw out the ceremonial first pitch,” Mr Dunkley said.

“The atmosphere was great and considering all the legendary pitchers who have taken to the Yankee Stadium mound, I regard this an experience of a lifetime.

“With all of the activities taking place this week associated with the America’s Cup World Series races, this was a wonderful opportunity to promote Bermuda to a significant and captive audience.”

According to Mr Dunkley, the “much anticipated game” served as an “invaluable opportunity to leverage Bermuda’s promotional outreach” to thousands at the game and countless more watching live on television.

The AC Trophy “Auld Mug” was also on display at the game to generate excitement for the ACWS activities, which will have a strong Bermuda presence, including representation from the ACBDA, the Bermuda Tourism Authority, Hamilton Princess and Gosling’s.
