Awareness Day at the National Stadium. It was a day when young and old united for a day of fun but also to get the message across that they will not put up with illegal drugs in Bermudian society. There were many special images that people will remember from the day. Here are just a few captured by The Royal Gazette .
DRUMMING AGAINST DRUGS -- Three-year-old Kueshun Smith bangs away at one of the Empress Mennen Dancers' drums after their perfomance on Saturday. NO DRUG WALK -- Thousands of people marched from the National Stadium to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs.
FIRED UP -- Bermuda's Leo Club joined the march against drugs on Saturday, above, while Firefighter Scott Quinn is seen below with four-year-old Francesca Cacace in the cab of a fire appliance.
NICE AND NASTY -- US Navy guard dog Kazan, a Belgian Malinois, shows the two sides of his training. Kazan is a big softy when he is around children like four-year-old Umdae Woolridge, left. But on the orders of his handler Mr. Jim Linsley he will attack. Mr. Linsley's colleague Mr. John Hurr, right, gets a first hand demonstration.
