Bermudiana blaze `nothing serious'

Firefighters were called after residents in the area spotted smoke coming from the derelict building's upper floor and roof area. One appliance arrived on the scene around 8 p.m. and used a crane to hoist crews to roof. A spokesperson for the fire service said the blaze was "nothing serious.'' An article in Friday's issue of The Worker's Voice claims front desk manager Nagma Walker wrote a memo suggesting some of her staff were "dumb people''.
The memo deals with room assignments for guests and instructs staff members that a certain code means do not move the guests. Underneath the instruction the memo states: "For the dumb people, leave this room alone.''
