Butterfield shares edge higher

A day after releasing its first quarter results, which showed a profit of $26.8 million, shares of Butterfield Bank edged higher on The Royal Gazette/BSX Index.
The bank’s shares rose two cents, or 1.2 per cent, to close at $1.66 after 31,500 were traded.
fifty of the bank’s preference shares also changed hands, but there was no change to the closing price of $1,050.
Argus Group shares were also unchanged at $4 after 10,200 were traded.
The Royal Gazette/BSX Index closed at 1,174.04, up 8.82 points, or 0.76 per cent.
The BSX Insurance Index closed down 5.83 points, or 0.36 per cent, at 1,618.22.
