All they need is love
March 8, 2013Dear Sir,Thank you for allowing me the space to encourage my fellow Bermudians. I would like to remind our people that life and death is in the power of the tongue, therefore I would like to motivate our people to start/continue to speak positive things to and about our young people, particularly our at risk young men.Everyone is drawn to people whom show love and support to them, and our young men are no different. We must remember that everyone has been given a talent which makes us all equally important to Bermuda. The trash truck collectors are just as important as the lawyers of our Island. Our community raises our children, thus they are what we make them out to be. We must encourage them to renew their minds and create a positive vision for themselves. We must let them know that one bad mistake/bad behaviour does not make them a bad person. Please, let’s stop making money, education, and materialism the God of life, because God is love. Thus the more love we show them, the more of God we show them. God/love can change any person. There is very little difference in the bad decisions that they make and the ones many of us make, whether it be legal or illegal. ie alcohol vs drugs, abortions vs guns, political parties vs gangs, verbal assaults vs physical assaults etc. Remember that life and death is in the power of the tongue, therefore the next time you run into an “at risk young man”, take time to talk to them and not about them. Let them know that they are loved by you, because each one can reach one.One Love.DESMOND W CROCKWELL SR
