Lorraine Seib has been appointed global head of excess casualty at Aspen Insurance.

She was previously president of global excess casualty insurance at XL Catlin, and has more than 35 years of experience in the sector.

Ms Seib will be based in New York and will “focus on delivering creative, problem-solving excess casualty coverage solutions to clients across a wide range of industries”, according to a company statement.

She will report to David Cohen, Aspen Insurance’s president and chief underwriting officer. He said: “Lorraine’s technical expertise and relationships across the industry are second to none.”
