Clubbing without making a sound

Silent disco: choose the DJ you want to hear by altering your frequency

Hit the club, don’t like the music? If you’re at Pier 6 on Friday, all you have to do is switch stations.

DJs will be given a frequency and a colour; partygoers receive headphones which light up to show who they’re listening to.

It’s clubbing, but with headphones. Passers-by won’t hear a thing.

Hush is the first of its kind in Bermuda. VIBE 103FM DJs Rusty G, D’General, Mista Genius and DJ Chubb will go head to head for the night.

“Quiet clubbing” is a growing trend in big cities where noise ordinances and other limitations have encouraged club owners to get creative.

In New York City, thousands of people each week head out to silent discos where they put on their headphones, and dance.

Hush takes place on the lower level of Pier 6, starting at 9.30pm.

Tickets, $40, can be purchased at Stefanel, Mambo, Kit ’n’ Caboodle and www.bdatix.bm. ID is mandatory.
