A film about women overcoming barriers to pursue dreams in science, technology, engineering and mathematics will be screened this month to celebrate International Women’s Day.

The Big Dream documentary, which tells the story of seven women from around the world, will be shown by the United States Consulate and the Bermuda Human Rights Commission.

“The Human Rights Commission and the US Consulate are thrilled to be able to show this important and inspirational film,” US Consul General Mary Ellen Koenig said.

“We believe it would be of interest particularly to young women, their parents, and educators.

“We look forward to welcoming an enthusiastic crowd to the screening and thank Chubb for donating use of its space and technology.”

Big Dream was produced by The Big Dream Movement, which helps girls around the world pursue a future in Stem fields.

After the 90-minute film, which is free and open to the public, viewers will be able to talk with one of the women in the film via Skype.

The documentary will be shown at Chubb, formerly Ace, on Woodbourne Avenue at 4pm on March 8.

Because there is limited space, anyone interested in attending should RSVP to blackac@state.gov.
