Dear Sir,

Why not just accept that permanent resident’s certificate holders have already gone through intense government scrutiny before being accorded PRC status.

They could simply be given Bermuda status and stop all the toing and froing, and the objections from one segment of the population.

Doing so might even incite some of the 5,000 previous residents, many of whom are PRCs, who have left the island to return.

This would be of economic benefit to the island.

A large portion are retired and not a threat to Bermudian jobseekers.
