A driver was arrested early this morning after a high-speed chase.

According to a police spokesman, the chase took place at about 1am through northern parts of the City of Hamilton and parts of Devonshire before ending at the junction of Store Hill and North Shore in Smith’s. The driver, whose car was impounded, was arrested on warrants and for driving in a dangerous manner.

A court appearance is expected.
