Teenager denies home robberies
A Pembroke teenager has denied entering two homes and stealing goods worth more than $3,000.
Kyari Flood, 16, is accused of trespassing in a Smith’s dwelling from February 10 to 11 and taking a red hoverboard valued at $750.
He is also alleged to have entered a Devonshire property on February 12 and stolen numerous possessions including gold pendants, several watches, a pair of headphones, a box of coins, a knapsack, a PlayStation 3 and a money bag worth a combined $2,285.
In Magistrates’ Court this morning, the defendant pleaded not guilty to both offences, as well as the alternative of handling stolen goods.
Mr Flood’s defence lawyer revealed that he was currently under the care of the Department of Child and Family Services, but that the department would not like to take custody of him.
Instead, she suggested he be sent to the correctional Co-Ed facility.
Magistrate Khamisi Tokunbo released Mr Flood on $5,000 bail, and set a trial date for April 28.
