A man who caused a commotion at a middle school this morning has been detained at the Mid Atlantic Wellness Institute.

According to a police spokesman, at around 7.50am officers responded to a report of a suspicious male at TN Tatem Middle School.

“Upon police arrival it was ascertained that a male was banging on the windows, doors and creating a commotion which alarmed both staff and students,” the spokesman said.

“The male was subsequently taken into police custody and transported to the MWI where he was assessed and detained. Inquires into this incident and now under way.”
