Think about how you make decisions

Columnist David Hills

Decisions. Each day we are all faced with making decisions. Some appear small and inconsequential and others can sometimes feel overwhelming as a result of the potential consequences.

Many of the decisions we make are almost automatic such as the route we take to go to work, what we have for breakfast or what clothes we might wear today.

The more difficult decisions often affect other people so we take more time is assessing options and alternatives, weighing the pros and cons, and always considering what might be the end result of that particular decision.

Whatever the issue a decision has to be made so progress can be made. Beginning with the end goal in mind often makes the decision somewhat easier and less awkward. So take a moment and assess how you go about making your decisions each day and each week.

“In any moment of decision, The best thing you can do is the right thing. The worst thing you can do is nothing.” - Theodore Roosevelt
