Chesterfield dropped to within two points of the relegation zone in League One after losing 1-0 at home to Bradford City on Saturday.

Tony McMahon’s goal midway through the second half was enough to separate the sides, and push Bradford closer to the play-off places.

Rai Simons, the Bermuda striker, got his first action for a couple of weeks, coming on as a 77th minute substitute for Liam O’Neil, the defender.

Reggie Lambe, meanwhile, played 89 minutes of Mansfield’s 1-1 draw away at Cambridge United.

Adam Chapman gave Mansfield the lead with a 23rd minute free kick, and Ryan Donaldson hit back nine minutes before half-time for Cambridge.
