Teenager shot in leg continues recovery
A teenager who was shot in the leg by a gunman on the back of a bike was recovering on a general ward in hospital last night.
The 17-year-old boy was injured on Tuesday night after two men on a motorcycle opened fire on a small crowd of six men that were sitting on a wall at a property on Morgan Road, Warwick.
Police do not believe the shooting is linked with a disturbance in Hamilton Parish on Tuesday when three men were arrested after a group armed in machetes and bats descended on a property.
Local MP Mark Pettingill told The Royal Gazette he had been “greatly disturbed” by news of the shooting in his constituency.
“I have received no reports or concerns from constituents in the area.
“I have discussed the matter with Michael Dunkley, the Premier and Minister of National Security, and will follow up accordingly.”
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the Morgan Road shooting or anyone with any information to contact police on 295-0011 or the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
