Christmas is looking bright for Bermuda’s disadvantaged youngsters, as donations keep coming in at the Coalition for the Protection of Children.

After real estate company Coldwell Banker gave 1,000 toys to the charity this week as part of the Toys for Tots initiative, two more businesses have handed over sizeable cheques.

The Bank of Butterfield raised $5,000 from its holiday raffle, tempting employees to enter with prizes including travel vouchers and vacation days.

Meanwhile, reinsurance firm Ariel Re donated $2,100 to the charity from its fundraising efforts.

Kelly Hunt, from the Coalition said: “The spirit of giving excelled this year.

“Due to this kind of generosity, we are confident that every family we work with will enjoy a Christmas meal and receive a present to open.”
