A young man has been charged with causing the death of teenager Krystal (Maya) Babon, who died after the motorbike she was riding on as a pillion passenger crashed into a wall on Harbour Road in March 2005.

Sandys man Jay Cody Steede, 17, has been charged with causing the 15-year-old?s death while he was driving a motorcycle on Harbour Road, Warwick, in a dangerous manner on March 19 last year.

It is also alleged that Steede was disqualified from driving at the time. Ms Babon became the third road casualty of 2005 when she died after a single vehicle motorbike collision during the late evening of March 19 last year.

Appearing at the Magistrates? Court, Steede was not asked to enter a plea and was given $5,000 bail with one surety to reappear in court for mention on November 17.
