Student FutureCare debaters impress
Minister of Health Zane DeSilva congratulated five students who participated in recent FutureCare debates.Marcus Bean of CedarBridge Academy, William Campbell of Saltus Grammar School, Glen Simmons of Berkeley Institute, Jashonae Smith of Mount Saint Agnes and Megan Sutcliff of Bermuda High School each received a personal donation from Mr DeSilva. The money is to go toward their upcoming trip to the 2012 Pan-American Debate Competition in Chile.The students are part of Dynamic Debaters and Learners under the instruction of Gladstone Thompson.The debate took place May 23 as part of campaign by the Health Insurance Department to increase awareness of the Health Insurance Plan and FutureCare Plan. Students presented arguments based on the motion, ‘This House believes that FutureCare is good enough’.
