Delta joins US airlines price war
Airlines becoming the latest carrier to announce new low fares.
Delta are reducing prices from between 30 and 40 percent on summer flights from Bermuda to the US, which can then link up with cheap flights in the US.
Travellers can book the discount flights up until next Wednesday, but further reductions could be announced later.
The cost of a round-trip to Boston will be from $178, Atlanta $214 and Orlando $289. Around $20 tax will be added to fares.
Delta publicity officer Ms Jackie Zuill said: "These are quite substantial savings on tickets on sale from tomorrow through April 27. The discounts are in line with cuts made by Northwest and US Air over the past couple of days.'' "But the Boston flight, for example, is nearly $10 cheaper than the Northwest flight.'' Delta flies two daily flights from Bermuda, to Atlanta (1.45 p.m.) and Boston (4.55 p.m.).
The price-war is seen as a good opportunity for Bermudians to travel and good news for tourism, attracting more visitors to the Island.
