Tonight’s American Airlines flight to Bermuda has been delayed because of a suspicious package at Miami International Airport.

The Miami Herald reported that the area around checkpoints two and three in Terminal D was evacuated this evening as the suspicious package was investigated. However, some flights began departing the terminal just after 7pm (8pm Bermuda time) and all checkpoints are now open, according to the airport’s Twitter account.

The American Airlines aircraft was due to depart Miami at 7.15pm Bermuda time and arrive on the Island at 9.51pm.

The flight instead departed Miami International Airport at 10.36pm, with a scheduled arrival time of 1.15am, according to the airline’s website.
