Lister named to HSBC board as long-serving directors retire
HSBC Bank Bermuda Ltd has announced the retirement of long-serving board members Ann Cartwright DeCouto and David Hamshere.Mrs Cartwright DeCouto served on the board for nearly 24 years and Mr Hamshere for almost 21 years. The Board and the Bank’s management thank them both for their valuable service and many contributions and wish them all the best in the future.The bank also announced that former Bermuda Monetary Authority chief executive officer Cheryl-Ann Lister was elected a director at the bank’s annual meeting on May 12.She was appointed to the board’s Audit and Risk Committee at the board meeting immediately following the AGM.In a joint statement, chairman John Campbell and CEO Philip Butterfield said of Ms Lister: “Her broad and extensive experience will be a great asset to the board and we are looking forward to working with her to build further on the bank’s success.”Ms Lister chairs the National Anti-Money Laundering Committee. She is also a director of Axis Capital Holdings Ltd and member of their Audit and Risk Committee. Mrs Lister is a chartered financial analyst.
