Phillips and Burnie lead wire-to-wire
Mark Phillips and Katrin Burnie won the Bermuda Mixed Foursomes Championship with ease.
The pair shot a one-under-par 53 at Turtle Hill Golf Club yesterday to take the title by seven shots.
Phillips and Burnie posted a seven-under 47 on Saturday in the best ball round, with Damian Palanyandi and Elizabeth Parsons their closest challengers after they posted a four-under 50.
However, Palanyandi and Parsons could not get close yesterday, shooting a three-over 57 in the alternating shot format, and finished on one-under for the tournament.
Kavon Trott and Ann Symonds finished third, a further four shots back, while defending champions Jarryd Dillas and Ebonie Burgess never looked like mounting a serious challenge.
The pair carded a disappointing one-over 55 on Saturday, and followed that up with a three-over 57 yesterday.
