A 71-year-old old Warwick man awoke in the early hours of Sunday to find a thief standing in his bedroom. Police went to the property at Tribe Road No. 2 at 5 a.m.The victim told the Police the man escaped on foot taking with him a Bank of Bermuda bank bag and about $230 in cash. The suspect is a white or light skinned man, 5ft 8in-5ft 10in and of medium build.

Intruder gives man rude awakening

A 71-year-old old Warwick man awoke in the early hours of Sunday to find a thief standing in his bedroom. Police went to the property at Tribe Road No. 2 at 5 a.m.

The victim told the Police the man escaped on foot taking with him a Bank of Bermuda bank bag and about $230 in cash. The suspect is a white or light skinned man, 5ft 8in-5ft 10in and of medium build.

He was wearing dark clothing and is believed to be in his 30s. Inquiries are under way.

Police had a busy weekend dealing with 11 break-ins. There were three in Warwick, one in Paget, four in Pembroke, and two in Sandys. There were also 15 damage-only road traffic collisions and 15 injury accidents.

Resident gives chase after cash snatch

A Pembroke resident who was awakened just after midnight on Friday by a thief unsuccessfully gave chase to him, Police said last week.

Around 12.40 a.m. on Friday Police attended the reported breaking and entering at the complainant's home on Ferrar's Lane.

The suspect made off with $200 in cash from the premises and was last seen by Police heading in the direction of Richmond Road.

The victim was unable to give a description of the man. Inquiries are under way.

Police hunt laptop thief

A grey Compaq Presario laptop was stolen from a Sandys parish residence on Saturday.

Police were called to the Middle Road residence around 4.55 p.m. The complainant told them someone broke into his home between 11.45 a.m. and 4.35 p.m.

The thief stole the computer and its black carrying case. Inquiries are under way.
